Caring for Your Parents & Your Own Family - The Sandwich Generation

Are you part of the "The Sandwich Generation" and a Women Seeking her Tribe?  We have the perfect event! What is "The Sandwhich Generation" you ask?  It is a generation of people who care for their aging parents while supporting their own children. According to the Pew Research Center, just over one of every eight Americans aged 40 to 70 is both raising a child and caring for a parent.   Our guest speaker is Sarah Sobel, LMSW, Caregiver Services at Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan She will share her insights on this challenging (and exhausting) position many of us live in each day. Join our conversation with Sarah while she teaches (us) caregivers how to take care of ourselves, reduce stress, and find strategies to get you through. 11:00 Networking and Registration 11:30 am - 12:30 PM Presentation and Discussion   12:30 pm - 1:30 Lunch in Garden Area   1:30 pm - 2:30 pm Garden Tour   Presentation and Garden Tour is free and optional.  The lunch is the only expense. It will be a terrfic experience and delicious Mediterian meal.  More About Our Speaker:  Sarah Sobel is a licensed social worker (LMSW), who currently works at the Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan. In Sarah’s role as a contract administrator, much of her work is dedicated to supporting, educating and advocating for caregivers.  As an enneagram 2, Sarah has always had a desire to help others –  but most recently she is learning about the balance of helping with self-care. Sarah had the privilege of watching her parents care for their parents as they aged, and her hope, as she navigates the next decade with her parents and in-laws, is that it might be a time of balance, growth and laughter, but mostly of love.  Organized by: Perennial Women Platinum Sponsor is Beacon Hill Bronze Sponsor is Area Agency on Aging Additional Sponsorships Available by contacting Christine@avidmarketingalliance.com  More about Perennial Women: We’ve created a community of women who are midlife and beyond so we can provide relevant conversation(s), education, events, and fun!  We all share unique qualities at this time in life.
